Our Story
Kyle Deehan, the Founder and President of Kama’aina Custom Homes, and father of two, was born and raised on the west side of the Island of Hawai’i. His family has deep roots here, as they migrated from Japan in the 1800’s. Being raised on an island, integrity is very important, because in Hawai’i, a good reputation goes a long way.
He graduated from Kealakehe High School, and started his construction experience as a teenager working summers and weekends for various companies, and gained a unique perspective on different trades and phases of the building industry. Soon after high school, he started his construction career full time for a few small contractors, which gave him experience in every phase of building homes from the ground up.
In a short time, Kyle made a name for himself in the industry, and accepted the challenge when offered the position as foreman for a company who recognized his talent and acumen for overseeing numerous, large scale, multi-million dollar projects. He thrived in his new position, building bigger, better, more complex, and intricate homes.
Now, after starting his own company, he likes to put his talent to good use building custom homes with his crew and continues to hone his skills. He takes deep pride and care in every home they build. Most people work years for the moment in their lives to be able to build a custom home. It should be a great experience, not a headache.
You should have complete confidence and trust in your contractor knowing that your home will be built with integrity, pride and fun to make for a happy home.
